At Shining Stars Nursery School, a part of Shining Stars Cardiff CIC, nestled in the heart of Canton in Cardiff, we've taken a big step forward to support families by obtaining official registration to offering 30 hours of free childcare, helping to lighten the financial burden while ensuring little ones receive the best care possible.
How the 30 Hours’ Free Childcare programme makes childcare more affordable for Every Family
We understand the challenges families face when it comes to balancing work, life, and childcare costs. That's why we're thrilled to introduce our 30 hours' free childcare programme, which opens doors for parents to access quality early years education without breaking the bank.
Cindy Lim, Co-director of Shining Stars Cardiff CIC, shares her thoughts on this initiative: "Our aim has always been to make childcare accessible and affordable for all families in our community. We believe that every child deserves the best start in life, and cost shouldn't be a barrier."

Registered with CIW and EYW: Ensuring Quality and Compliance
We are proud to be registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and Early Years Wales (EYW), on top of adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
This means that our nursery meets rigorous standards of safety, quality, and care as set out by regulatory authorities. Our commitment to these regulations ensures that every aspect of our nursery, from our facilities to our staff training and curriculum, is designed with the well-being and development of your child in mind.
By following the EYFS guidelines, we provide a rich learning environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Flexible Schedule for Busy Parents
To accommodate various schedules, our nursery operates Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday during term times from 9am to 12pm.
We also offer an optional lunch club that extends until 1pm, providing additional flexibility for working parents.
We welcome children aged 2 to 4 years old. Additionally, on Thursdays during term times, we transform into a vibrant parent and toddler group, creating opportunities for socialisation and play.
