We've had a Dragon of a Time at Shining Stars! Celebrating Saint David's Day with ROARRsome Activities.
All our activities about Saint David's Day for preschoolers are designed to develop specific skills.
This week at Shining Stars Nursery School, we've been busy celebrating Wales' national hero, Saint David, and all things dragon! To mark Saint David's Day on March 1st, the nursery has been a hive of activity, filled with laughter, creativity, and a sprinkle of prehistoric fun, exploring the fascinating world of dinosaurs.
In the spirit of our national emblem, the red dragon, we've had a roaring time with a variety of Saint David's Day themed activities from creating beautiful heart-shaped collages, to the children having a fantastic time listening to stories about Saint David's bravery and kindness.
We've even ventured out on a trip to the local library, where we delved into captivating stories.
For those of you eager to reinforce Welsh language skills at home, the word we will be introducing at snack time is “Diolch” and we will use Welsh words for colours: “Coch, Gwyn a Gwyrdd” (Red, White and Green).
